1Introduction
This is the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer for OMOHIDE DECK, an iOS app developed by Flying Dev Lab (空飛ぶ研究室).
OMOHIDE DECK is a memory-matching card game that uses your own photos as the cards. It is built on a simple principle: your photos belong to you, and they stay on your device.
Please read this page before using the App. The Disclaimer section explains what the App does and does not do with your photos, including what happens when you delete it.
2Photos and Data Stored on Your Device
Everything the App keeps stays on your device. OMOHIDE DECK has no server, and no photo or other data is ever transmitted to the Developer.
OMOHIDE DECK stores the following on your device only:
- Saved decks — the card images made from the photos you chose or took, plus the deck name and the dates it was created and last changed
- Your Pro purchase status — read from the App Store on your device (see In-App Purchases)
- Your consent record — the version (effective date) of this page (Privacy Policy and Disclaimer) you agreed to when you first opened the App, used only to show the agreement screen again if this page is revised
Card images are not your original photos. When you pick or take a photo, the App crops it to a square, scales it down, and re-encodes it as a new JPEG. That process redraws the pixels from scratch, so the saved card carries none of the original's metadata — no location, no capture date or time, no camera model, and no other embedded information. Your original photos in the Photos app are never modified.
Decks are saved as files in the App's Application Support directory. Photos you pick or take but do not save as a deck exist only in memory while you play and are discarded afterward. Deleting the App removes all of this data from your device.
The Developer has no access to any of it.
3Photo Library and Camera Access
OMOHIDE DECK gets photos in two ways, and both are designed so the App sees only what you choose to show it.
Choosing from your library. The App uses the iOS system photo picker. The picker runs outside the App, and only the photos you tap are handed over. The App is never granted access to your photo library — which is why iOS shows no permission prompt: there is no permission to ask for. The App cannot see, list, or read any photo you did not pick.
Taking new photos. The camera path asks for camera permission, because iOS requires it to show a live preview and capture. Photos taken this way go directly into the App as cards. They are not written to your camera roll, and the App still has no access to photos already in your library.
The App never requests microphone, location, contacts, or any other permission.
4Network Activity
Every feature of OMOHIDE DECK — choosing or taking photos, playing, and saving decks — works entirely offline. No network connection is required.
There are no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party libraries of any kind in the App.
The App itself connects to the network in only two cases, both initiated by you:
- Purchasing or restoring OMOHIDE DECK Pro — handled by Apple through the App Store (see In-App Purchases)
- Tapping a link on the About screen (Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, Support) — this website opens in your browser
In neither case is any photo, card image, or deck transmitted. Purchase traffic goes to Apple and to no one else, and it contains nothing from your photos. Opening this website is an ordinary page load in your browser, unconnected to anything in the App.
Usage statistics collected by Apple. Because the App is distributed through the App Store, Apple — as the platform operator — aggregates statistics such as installs, launches, session length, and purchases, and provides them to the Developer in anonymized, aggregated form. If you have enabled diagnostic data sharing in your iOS settings, crash reports are provided in the same way. All of this is managed by Apple, and the Developer can neither enable nor disable it.
What these statistics never include: your photos, the cards made from them, deck names, or anything about what is in your decks. The App never transmits any of it, so neither Apple nor the Developer can obtain it. Apple knows that the App was used — not what you played with.
The only way your card images leave the device is iCloud Backup, described next — and only if you have turned it on.
5iCloud Backup
OMOHIDE DECK does not use CloudKit and does not synchronize your decks with any cloud service.
However, if you have enabled iCloud Backup in your device settings, iOS may include the App's saved decks — including the card images — in your device backup, along with data from your other apps. This is a standard operating system feature managed entirely by Apple. The Developer neither initiates nor has access to these backups.
This is what allows your decks to be restored automatically when you set up a new device. If you prefer that your card images not be included, you can disable iCloud Backup for OMOHIDE DECK in the iOS Settings app.
Backup handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
6Advertising and Tracking
OMOHIDE DECK contains no advertisements.
The App does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and does not track you across apps or websites. There is no profiling, no behavioral analysis, and no data broker relationship of any kind.
This is a design decision, not a temporary state. A game built around your personal photos — and one that families may play with children — will not carry advertising.
7In-App Purchases
OMOHIDE DECK is free to download. You can choose or take photos, play the 4-pair board, and keep one saved deck — named automatically by date — without purchasing anything.
A one-time (non-consumable) in-app purchase, OMOHIDE DECK Pro, unlocks the larger 6-pair and 7-pair boards, removes the one-deck limit on saving, and lets you name and rename your decks. The exact contents and the price are shown on the App Store product page and on the purchase screen inside the App.
All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. The Developer never receives your payment details, card information, or any personal information associated with the transaction. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles that data.
Restoring a purchase. A purchase is tied to your Apple Account, not to a particular device. "Restore Purchase" on the Pro screen asks Apple whether that account holds the purchase. The query is completed between your device and Apple; the Developer neither stores nor receives your Apple Account. Use it to restore Pro after changing devices or reinstalling the App.
Any change to what is free and what is paid will be reflected on this page before it takes effect.
8Sharing of Information
The Developer does not sell, share, or transfer user information to third parties, for the simple reason that no user information is collected in the first place.
There is no data to disclose to advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers. In the event of a legally binding request from a competent authority, the Developer has no user data — and no photos — that could be produced.
9Children's Privacy
OMOHIDE DECK is a family game, not a children's app. It is made for families: adults and children can play together using family photos, and many families will do exactly that.
Because personal photos may be on the screen and a child may be playing, the App carries no advertisements. OMOHIDE DECK Pro is an optional add-on aimed at the adults in the family — larger boards, more saved decks, and named decks. The free version is fully playable, and nothing a child needs in order to enjoy the game sits behind a purchase.
The App collects no personal information from anyone of any age, so it presents no children's privacy concerns. There is no data to protect, share, or delete — for any user. Photos chosen or taken during play stay on the device exactly as described above, regardless of who is playing.
10Disclaimer
OMOHIDE DECK is a game. It is not a photo backup, an archive, or a photo-management tool. Please keep your original photos where you normally keep them.
Card images are derived copies. The App makes square, downscaled copies of your photos for use as cards. These copies are lower in resolution than the originals and carry no metadata. They are not a substitute for the original photos.
Photos taken in the App are not saved to your camera roll. If you take a photo in OMOHIDE DECK that you want to keep as a photo, take it again with the Camera app. The App is not designed to preserve camera captures beyond their use as cards.
Deleting the App deletes your decks. Saved decks live only inside the App. Uninstalling it removes them, unless a device backup restores them later. The Developer cannot recover deleted decks.
The free version keeps one deck. Saving a new deck replaces the existing one. The App warns you before it does so, but once replaced, the previous deck is gone.
Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to loss of decks, loss of photos taken within the App, or any other data loss.
Availability. iOS updates or changes in the device environment may affect the App's behavior without prior notice. The Developer may modify or discontinue the App without prior notice, and is not liable for data loss resulting from such changes.
11Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Developer's location as the court of first instance.
12Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as the App evolves. The revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page, and the effective date at the top of the page will be updated accordingly.
Because no data is collected, changes to this policy cannot affect data already held about you. If a change materially affects how the App behaves — for example, a change to what OMOHIDE DECK Pro includes — it will be published here before that change reaches users.
